During the pandemic years, plunging interest rates were counter-balanced by rising home sales. That balance is shifting. According to the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), new home sales fell 16.6% from March 2022 to April 2022, a nearly 27% drop from a year ago.
